During the business meeting after breakfast, Executive Director Donald J. Williams addressed employees, and thanked them for their hard work in supporting the students and the university in a time of great need. He assured employees that Virginia Tech Services, Inc. was already having a successful year before April 16, and wanted them not to feel that as the university’s retailer their hard work capitalized on the tragedy. Mr. Williams said that we worked on in the midst of our grief and provided students and the university support that was much needed, from securing Virginia Tech flags for the university to present to the families to providing major retail and mail order support for the Hokies United memorial t-shirt program developed by the students of Virginia Tech. Mr. Williams said we carried on, did our jobs, took care of others, and looked out for each other. Above all Mr. Williams remembered Minal Panchal, the Virginia Tech Services, Inc. Fall 2006 rush clerk who died.
