Long-time employee Eddie Linkous was nominated by Virginia Tech Services, Inc. for Virginia Tech’s 2006 President’s Award for Excellence. The nomination acknowledged Eddie for the pride he takes in his work as the sole full-time employee responsible for the organization’s maintenance and cleaning. Eddie contributes to our success by helping customers on the sales floor, providing Hokie Shop security during football games, and doing whatever it takes to keep things going smoothly. While Virginia Tech Services, Inc. employees are not state employees and thus are not eligible to receive the Virginia Tech President’s Award, the university still recognized Eddie as the Virginia Tech Staff Employee of the Week on February 19, 2007 on VTNews.vt.edu and on the Virginia Tech personnel website.

At the August 2, 2007 Employee Appreciation Event, Executive Director Don Williams recognized Eddie as an outstanding employee acknowledged by the university as a Staff Employee of the Week, and announced that Eddie would receive an award from Virginia Tech Services, Inc. on the scale of the President’s Award for Excellence given by the university.
